Morphosis Interview

Fashion and fitness model Philip Fusco (21), claims he's 75% Italian and 25% Irish. He's been modelling professionally since September 2008 only (although he has admittedly entered the industry at the age of 17) but the Internet geeks around the world already saw his perfect features everywhere on the blogosphere.
The Adonis also is the cover boy of American fitness magazine Exercise’s May 2009 issue (last picture) and appears on eight pages plus the pullout poster.
Busy like a bevy of bees all by himself, Philip Fusco nonetheless kindly took the time to answer my questions.


Lestat:
How did you start your career?
Philip:
I sent my pictures into Empire Model Management and Ryan Colby called and said he wanted to see me in person.
Lestat:
How do you feel about modelling and what do you like most in it?
Philip:
I love modelling. My favourite part is the constant motivation from photographers to look the best you can for the pictures.
Lestat:
What's a working day like?
Philip:
A working day is like ten and I am in the city and I don’t leave the city for like five hours.
Lestat:
Who / what inspires you most in life in general?
Philip :
My one inspiration in my life probably comes from my mother... she tells me exactly when I am not on cue and when something needs to be worked on, she also pushes me to go to the gym and makes myself look the best I can.
Lestat:
How was your latest assignment, and what was the job like?
Philip:
It was a photoshoot for my portfolio. The job was really fun, quite alot of travelling involved (being in New Jersey) but the photographer was awesome and he offered to feed me!
Lestat:
How do you spend your spare time?
Philip:
My hobbies definitely have to be electronics and boxing or grappling (ultimate fighting) and bodybuilding... I spend my spare time at the gym and hanging out with my friends.
Lestat:
What are your projects?
Philip:
My projects are to keep pushing myself until I make it onto a billboard somewhere!
Lestat:
Sounds great! And what would be the perfect next assignment like?
Philip:
The perfect assignment is like this:
1. the photographer comes to my house (save me travelling)
2. a crew comes with unlimited food (protein)
3. a complimentary shopping spree afterwards be quite delightful too
Lestat:
You know what you’re after! Er… and is love important to you?
Philip:
Of course it is... isn’t love important to everybody?
Lestat:
Possibly… it’s arguable! What do you wear to bed?
Philip:
In bed... in the winter I wear pyjama pants and a t-shirt, in the summer usually just a pair of underwear and that’s it.
Lestat:
I see… Do you spend much time on the Internet?
Philip:
I would say like 35% of my day is usually on the Internet.
Lestat:

Philip:
Do I pluck my eyebrows?
I get them cleaned now... But being from Long Island, I would do my eyebrows with wax all the time... There were extremely shaped and looked kinda girly, I did live on Long Island where it’s normal there so I had no idea until I met Ryan at The Empire and he looked at me and had a heart attack... he told me if I touch them, my hands would be chopped off.
Lestat:
He’s right. But take care, just in case!


"Man-of-the-Year-able" super model loves the gym, as you can imagine. Fact is, he truly does. He's used to working out at least four times a week. Even when he doesn't want to go to the gym, he makes himself go. That's one of the secrets of his awesome features.
He will co-MC a fashion show for underwear brand Score tonight in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Audience members will be given the opportunity to bid on and buy the Score tees right off his back! Other than that, Philip would love to work on a constant basis with Abercrombie & Fitch.
